was amazing. we spent 4 days lazing by the beaches, soaking in the sun, pigging out on squid ink risotto, calamari and mussels, and sleeping 12 hours a night :) ice cream cones were £1.50 for triple scoops - we usually had one at noon and one in the evening. our hotel room was HUGE, and we never failed to get up by 10 every morning to be in time for the breakfast they served. it was really hot in croatia, it didn't even get chilly at night (unlike greece)! great weather, great food, great company, great holiday!!

thanks for being my friends :) summer 2010, anyone?

Hello I'm alive! just got back from Portugal and now it's time to study for my last exams of my life :(

In other news, Uniqlo has opened a branch in SG and it bewilders me to see how people will pay so much for their stuff when it is so, crazy, cheap in London. Just like how Lonsdale became a posh brand in SG (like ?!?!?)

ALSO !!

Ive just added these babies to my bathroom !!!!!!!! they just came in the mail today and they smell so ridiculously good !! every other minute i'll stop what I'm doing to sniff my arm/hair/elbow/etc ! I immediately ordered the moisturisers after my shower and I just can't wait for them to arrive.... :) :) i heart philosophy !

we sped off to regents street after school on Friday to see U2 perform on the rooftop of the BBC building! i have to admit that i was never quite the fan, but it was fun all the same! we waited for about an hour before the band started playing. soops fun!

and the next day we celebrated Marc's birthday at Nobu!!! the food was so yums, the wagyu sashimi was out of this world, so was the razor clam sashimi. the food was so amazing that even their famous miso black cod didn't stand out! :) :) :) the jalapeno crab thingy was CRAZYYYY GOOD, and we had some amazing seared wagyu things. half of the time i didn't know what were were eating, because adelynn did the fantastic ordering, but everything was just so ridiculously awesome. even the plain sushi rolls were out of this world. sadly for us we didn't spot ANY celebrities :( for a moment, tia thought she'd seen jenn aniston, but it was just some random hot blonde. maybe kate and lindsey ditched nobs for dixy chicken that night, hehe

well, Happy Birthday Marc!!! <3 <3

and then there was London Fashion Week over the weekend which was a fun experience but super overrated, and I dont have the photos yet!

I'm back in London! the weather's been crap, it's been cold but snowless, which is really annoying because I missed all the crazy snow last week. school work's piling up, and for the first time ever, I'm starting to get worried...serves me right for skipping 2 weeks of school! i have a crap company law essay due this week too...oh joy!

but let's think happy thoughts!

1. I ordered my steig larsson books online and I just can't wait for them to arrive. I reaaally hope they were translated well
2. gran torino is a beautiful film. I can't believe that Clint Eastwood is 79. that's really old...
3. I can't wait to go back to sg in june! I realise that the longer I stay here, the stronger my urge to fly back every now and then

La Plagne 2008

my favourite ski trip yet! despite the painfully long bus ride from london to the alps...

le tunnel!

i loved the slopes at la plagne, they're way better than the ones at les arcs. plus, the snowfall this year was awesome! weather was great, it was so hot the day that we took the gondola up to 3000m that we were all sweating in our jackets.

at 3000m up with adelynn + marc!

the next day, however, there was a crazy windstorm and temperatures apparently reached -25degs! alf and i thought it was probably about -5, so we continued skiing and almost died on a charlift. then we went to a snowpark in the crazy weather thinking that it'll be fun, and we got so majorly owned! later that night we found out that particular park was for 'specialists', which managed to comfort our bruised egos (along with the bruised legs and butts and arms)

and then there were the other little adventures. for instance this fine day:

...when we (foolishly) decided to ski past this red barrier tape despite that fact that the sun was setting, it was almost 5pm, and the slope was CLOSED.

see alf's happy expression there? :))) boy we had no idea. we ended up getting lost and had to ski down slopes in the half-dark...eventually we reached some other town and hitchhiked back to the hostel :(

on christmas eve we had a picnic at one of the peaks! with, like, 70euros of hams and cheeses :) we had like half a kilo of some sliced ham, thanks to my excellent french. i told the lady we wanted one hundred grams but somehow she thought we'd like one leg so she just went on slicing and slicing and slicing....

and that's all! :)

lake konstanz. it's HUGE i thought it was the sea.

we drove up to Konstanz, which is actually in germany and i became poor because my purse was stuffed with francs and i had zero euros. the ice cream in Konstanz was super cheap!! anyway, we returned to the car later to find a parking fine...which more than offset the cheapness of our ice creams! haha in fact we could have bought...40 ice creams

in the cablecar up a Very High Mountain

we weren't even 1/3 up yet! we actually thought this was where the cable car would stop.......

but then it stopped here :

-4 degrees :( poor janelle only had a thin wool cardi on her!

so pretty :)

and then we spent about an hour up there freezing our asses off and throwing snowballs in the air.

yayyy BFF !

we went to zurich too but I haven't uploaded any photos and there wasn't that much to see either! we ate a pork knuckle and many many macaroons! i think that's all we did....

little doggers went for a swim! he got so excited when he saw the sea he ran straight in and started paddling away happily.......until he realised his paws could no longer touch the sand and started to panick. silly doggy!

I'm back!! .......in not so sunny singapore. it's been raining everyday! not that i'm complaining. i'd rather it be nice and cool than super hot.

been spending the past week sleeping, eating, shopping. it's been awesome but i'm starting to get really bored. my nose is runny half of the time and my eyes itch ALL the time - something to do with the weather i suppose? singapore has changed tremendously over the past 6 months, i don't recognise the place anymore. new shopping centres, tons of new restaurants. the raffles city basement has undergone a major makeover! and the doughnut shops' queues are no longer crazy long (finally!) - i managed to have some from j.co...but i still like krispy kremes more!

the internship was great - i like the bank, like the culture, like the work. the hours were definitely not as nice.....but the people make up for it. but of course i'm relieved to be back! slept non-stop for 3 days to recover from the 10 weeks of sleep debt when i got back. i am, though, in a super unfit state now, having not exercised or even walked more than 1km in the past 3 months. i tried going for a run a few days back and died in 4 mins. pathetic!

haven't managed to spend much time with alf at all since returning. bummer! i hate living at opposite ends of singapore. next year's not gonna be great either with him in oxford and me in london...

i wanna go on a beach holiday!!

i finally managed to sleep for 8 hours straight last night! on most occasions i wake up after 4 or 5 hours, and i won't be able to fall asleep again

it was so cold!! arhghg! woke up in the morning and peered out of my window only to be greeted by this sight:

which was so odd! snow? in london? in the middle of april?? :( i couldn't believe it our backyard had so much snow...good thing the housemates weren't around if not we'd end up snowball fighting for like the entire afternoon....

i don't like snow...it melts and becomes ice in your hair and it makes the ground all slippery. and it doesn't help when my house has by far the WORST insulation ever. i just hid under the sheets and shivered the entire day and it was too cold to even climb out to make hot chocolate :( but i have to admit it did look quite pretty, but somehow it never crossed my mind to even step out of the house for a photo in the snow. haha too cold.

yay but it's sunny today. i'm in my tshirt and boxers and my window's wide open :) it's 7 but it's still super bright and the sun's starting to set only at 9! yayyy summerrrrr
